The Apothecary Shop - Quilting Fabric Collection

Writer's picture: G.MarieG.Marie

Kicking off my next collection - The Apothecary Shop -

This quilting fabric collection is inspired by the idea of an apothecary shop - early 20th century. It is excellent for creative fussy-cutting or for backing on a quilt. Available on fabric as well as peel and stick wallpaper, which makes them perfect for DIY crafts.

The collection is available at my Spoonflower shop - click here.

Presenting the Quilting Fabric Collection Designs:

Mahogany wood drawers with metal plates.

Starting with drawers! These drawers are mahogany - with some color variation in the wood, and they have a little age and use on them. Somebody didn’t do a good job closing them, either. Available on fabric and wallpaper at my Spoonflower shop. Peel and stick wallpaper is is excellent for DIY crafts - especially for kids. And perfect on fabric for quilting. Everybody’s fabric stash needs drawers, right? Bet you don’t have any.

Mortars & pestles made of mahogany wood. Brown on light blue background.

The second design for the Apothecary Shop fabric collection, is mortars & pestles. Like the drawers, these are also in mahogany with some color variation. Very nice wood-working.

Old-fashioned style brass scales for use by an apothecary. Brass color has some variation. Dark magenta background.

Old-fashioned brass scales for weighing potions or medicines. These are in fairly good condition.

Early 20th century style cash registers - mahogany wood - similar to those made by National Co. On mustard yellow background.

Some old cash registers. Part of The Apothecary fabric design collection. Circa 1910, old wooden cash registers similar to early models by National Co.

Glass bottles filled with mystery potions (or medicines) lined up on shelves in an old apothecary shop. Bottles are glass with light colored liquids. On a dark magenta background.

Glass bottles filled with mysterious solutions on shelves. And for me, another crack at the glass bottles making skills.

Early 20th century apothecary shop scene - design for fabric - to use for crafts or quilting. Brown drawers and shelves filled with bottles of mystery ointments.

The final design is a composite scene made by using the designs above. These designs are inspired by early 20th century pharmacies & apothecary shops. So it’s a little dark and mysterious, with an old-fashioned look and feel, but a shop that sold quality goods and could be trusted.
